The initial coding has been done, but we need a skilled Developer to join the team so we can continue to move forward. Immediate needs include deployment, and user testing. Future responsibilities will include project management for building facebook and iphone apps, widgets, video support, etc.

Programmer Requirements:

  • Ruby on Rails developer with 1-3 years experience.
  • Ability to deploy Ruby on Rails application.
  • Familiarity with Git version control system.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics.
  • Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Authorize.net, Paypal and other payment gateway systems.
  • Understanding of UI design principles and usability testing.

Company Description:

The Tipping Bucket empowers bright young social entrepreneurs to plan and execute projects that change the world. They build community gardens in Baltimore, start literacy programs in Bangladesh and open maternity clinics in Bamako. And so can you. Login to TippingBucket.org and add a drop to the bucket. By donating one dollar, you can change the world.

One project at a time goes into the bucket, each with a plan, a team, a funding goal and a deadline. Users add drops to the bucket–1 click = one dollar. If the goal is met before time runs out, the bucket tips, pledged donations are collected and the project moves forward. If not, none of the transactions are processed and the next project gets its turn in the bucket.
So basically, we’re a mashup of micro-payments, money-back guarantees and deal-a-day strategies for changing the world.
